An Survey Helper/Grade Checker performs many duties to assist field engineering work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist Party Chief with instrumentation as directed
• Load/unload survey equipment from truck
• Responsible for assisting in setting up and taking down survey equipment
• Assures that all needed supplies are on hand i.e. flagging, nails, hammers, lumber, sweeper etc.
• Call out survey elevations, hammer grade stakes and hold survey rod
• Maintain a valid driver's license
• Adheres to all safety policies and procedure

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• 0-1 years experience assisting in surveying procedures, operations and providing survey rod readings.
• High school diploma/GED preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Light lifting is required.
• Walking and standing occupy most of the work day.
• Overtime work is often required.
• May be exposed to extremes of hot or cold weather
