Department Information
The Middle Georgia State University School of Aviation, home of the Institute of Applied Aerospace Research, is a nationally recognized leader in aviation education and research. The Aviation Maintenance Technology and Aircraft Structural Technology programs offer both degree and certificate options. The Bachelor of Science and Aviation Science and Management, Advanced Flight (Airplane) is accredited by the Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI), the accreditation body for collegiate aviation programs. The Associates of Applied Science in Air Traffic Control is part of the Federal Aviation Administration's Collegiate Training Initiative.

Job Summary
Middle Georgia State University (MGA) is seeking a candidate for a Lecturer of Aviation (Air Traffic Control) in the Department of Aviation Science and Management. This is a full time 10-month position with a teaching load of 15 semester hours per semester of undergraduate courses, requiring classroom instruction and air traffic control tower and en route simulation training.

Responsibilities
Teach various aviation undergraduate courses (15 credit hours per semester) in areas to include, but not limited to Air Traffic Control.
Advises and mentors aviation students on academic and career aspirations.
Develops course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, tests, and lab projects.
Constructs training aids and mock-ups.
Instructs Aviation Science and Management courses in both the labs and classroom.
Evaluates student achievement and compentence.
Collaborates with faculty and occupational advisory committee.
Willingness to learn and use D2L, the online teaching and learning platform.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree required with extensive experience in Air Traffic Control.
Minimum of ten (10) years of ATC experience of which en route and Control Tower experience is required.
Demonstrated ability to teach and develop a broad array of aviation training courses
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree
FAA Control Tower Operator Certificate and current FAA class II medical is favorable.
Additional experience in terminal, or flight service is a plus.
