Senior Biologist

Ready to shape the future of science and global health? ATCC, a pioneer in biomaterials manufacturing, is seeking an onsite Senior Biologist with experience in Cell Biology and Virology based in Manassas, VA.

This position is a virology production role that is responsible for optimizing the production and the quality control (QC) assays for future virology replenishments. This process involves research and troubleshooting the propagation of BSL2 virology items in the ATCC catalog. The Senior Biologist is also responsible for the publication of documents detailing production and QC methods for these virology items, developing and implementing process improvement projects, and assisting with the tech transfers of new assays or procedures.

Responsibilities

Manufacturing Operations: Manufacturing or quality control (QC) testing of biological products by following standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and other controlled documents. Maintain laboratory safety, operations, equipment, and supplies. Documentation: Maintain production batch records in compliance with good laboratory practices. Revise and develop SOPs and work instructions. Collect, analyze, and report data, ensuring meticulous documentation. Continuous Learning and Problem-Solving: Work towards subject matter expertise of various cell lines and viruses, and handle challenges in alignment with organizational policies.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a scientific field with 5+ years of relevant experience or equivalent.Experience in Cell Biology is required.Experience in Virology is preferred.
