Wintel Director

Job Description This job is fully remote but we prefer candidates located by our Falls Church, Austin, and Minneapolis locations.

BAE Systems is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director to oversee and manage our Virtual Infrastructure and Server Operations teams.

The ideal candidate will have a solid technical background while also being able to manage and motivate people. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills, strong leadership abilities, and a commitment to staying current with the latest industry trends and technologies. The IT Director will be responsible for devising multiple team strategies and ensuring that all systems necessary to support its operations and objectives are in place. You will also work closely with other IT departments, as well as with business stakeholders, to ensure that our server infrastructure supports the needs of the organization. This is a critical role that requires a high level of technical expertise and leadership skills, outstanding communication abilities, and a problem-solving mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire high performing teams and individuals by cultivating a caring culture that promotes belonging, all-around well-being, and equity by leading inclusively.
• Oversee objectives and evaluate them according to established goals.
• Improve service ownership, implement consistent operational practices, and re-implementing system engineering framework principles and standards.
• Manage compliance sustainment to ensure continued diligence, effectiveness and continuous improvement.
• Support and drive forward business driven digital strategic imperatives.
• Identify problematic areas and implement solutions in time.
• Advance and further leverage technology, reduce cost, improve customer experience, simplify operational complexity.
• Manage annual budget to ensure cost-effectiveness and strategic alignment

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• 12 + years experience + BS degree
• 8+ years of experience in VMware and Windows Server operations at an enterprise scale
• 5+ years experience VMware and Windows Server operations at an enterprise scale (1,000+ physical/virtual servers) and proven leadership abilities.
• 5+ years of people management experience

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $ $250400

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
