Primary Function: The Research Analyst is responsible for determining and maintaining regulatory compliance for State Authorization. This position acts as the day-to-day authority on matters relating to State Authorization as well as acting in a supporting role relative to National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) and Veteran Schedule/Catalog regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

State Authorization:

  • Actively monitors external regulatory resources to help guide current and future business actions.
  • Ensures requirements for various due dates relating to state authorization application, renewal, reporting, etc. are satisfied.
  • Owns and coordinates assembling of required information.
  • Responsible for the timely submission of required documentation.
  • Lead point of contact for state agencies.
  • Accurately maintains prevailing content management tools to be in accordance with current authorization status.
  • Creates and quality checks information held in prevailing systems
  • Leads implementation of continuous improvement in information handling and communication processes.
  • Provides guidance and leadership to Research Analysts on status and procedures.
  • Point of contact for state authorization inquiries and requests via telephone and email from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Responds, investigates and/or resolves inquiries and issues or escalates to appropriate person to be resolved in a timely manner.
  • Provides regular updates to supervisor.
  • Informs and works with supervisor on escalated items.

Secondary Duties:

  • Maintains student records in NSC after researching and resolving identified discrepancies.
  • Supports processes necessary for Veteran Schedule/Catalog regulations
  • Supports preparation activities for the Commencement Ceremony.
  • Informs and works with supervisor on escalated items.

Marginal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs other duties as requested.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree Business Administration or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of (2) years of experience with State Authorization environment required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of technical experience, analytical/research background preferred.
  • Ability to exercise of discretion and judgment, with the authority to make independent decisions on matters which affect the university
  • Ability to be proficient in disparate regulatory systems: NSC, NSLDS, State Higher Education Executive Officers Association, State Portal Agencies, and National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements.
  • Ability to read and interpret regulations, statutes, etc.
  • Minimum of (2) years of experience with Salesforce and Campus Solutions preferred.
  • Excellent customer service orientation with strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, and attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
  • Flexibility and the ability to operate under stressful, time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Explorer).

Working Conditions:

  • Works with critical deadlines, i.e., often under stress.
  • Works in typical office setting.
