Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response:
nterpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Telemetry -on the unit monitoring, Use of Rapid Response Teams

Cardiovascular:
Post Cardiac Angiogram, Post MI, Pre/Post Cardiac Cath

Endocrine/Metabolic:
IV insulin protocols, Titration of Insulin drips

Genitourinary/Renal:
Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management, Renal failure

IV therapy/Phlebotomy:
Accessing Ports, Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, Peripheral Line Care/Management , PICC line management, Starting IVs

MEDICATIONS:
Heparin Protocols, Manage Cardiac drips- no titration, Manage Vasoactive drips-no titration

Neurological/Psychiatric:

CVA

Respiratory:
Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac, External CPAP/BIPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Nasal Cannula, Oxygen face masks, Non-invasive airway management

Professional Topics and Skills:
Isolation Precautions

UNIT INFO:
Nurses on this unit care for adult patients who are acutely ill with a wide variety of medical problems. The patient population on PCU/Tele includes cardiac, neuro, renal, infectious disease, pulmonary and more. As a RN on our unit, you will be accountable for the coordination of direct patient care and education.
