Supervisory Recreation Specialist,

This position is located in DHS/U.S. Coast Guard, Deputy Commandant for Mission Support, Director of Operational Logistics, Office of Base Operations (DOL-3), Base Kodiak (DOL), Kodiak AK.

This position will serve as the Supervisory Recreation Specialist (Bowling), responsible for the overall management, programming, technical oversight, and direction of an eight-lane bowling center and combined recreation room, pro shop, and short order food facility.

Being a Coast Guard (CG) civilian makes you a valuable member of the CG team. Typical work assignment include:

• Supervising a group of active duty personnel and civilian employees, providing administrative and technical supervision necessary for accomplishing the work of the unit.
• Performing the administrative and human resource management functions relative to the staff supervised.
• Observing workers' performance; demonstrates and conducts work performance critiques.
• Assuring that subordinates are trained and fully comply with the provisions of the safety regulations.
• Developing periodic program plans and annual budget requirements with supporting data for inclusion in the overall program plans for an activities segment of the recreation center.
• Implementing program plans developed at higher levels.
• Selecting, scheduling, and publicizing various recreational services, insuring maximum us of facilities and other resources.
