SUMMARY
This role involves conducting various behavioral health assessments and providing treatment services for individuals and groups in the Copper River area.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver counseling, assessments, and treatment services to diverse clients across different age groups and family dynamics.
- Engage in continuous education and training sessions to stay updated on best practices and techniques.
- Prepare necessary reports to meet agency requirements and ensure accountability.
- Offer a range of behavioral health services such as substance abuse treatment and therapy to eligible residents in the region.
- Maintain accurate and compliant documentation in client files.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve treatment goals.
- Act as a valuable team player within the Behavioral Health Department.
- Proactively connect clients with additional support services.
- Conduct regular outreach activities in surrounding villages.
- Lead group therapy sessions and provide support to Behavioral Health Assistants.
- Attend mandatory training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- Solid understanding of human behavior, assessment techniques, and behavioral disorder treatment.
- Proficiency in customer service and personalized client care.
- Ability to apply appropriate methods based on individual situations.
- Willingness to learn about the impact of trauma on clients and communities.
- Incorporate Alaska Native culture into interventions sensitively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Maintain confidentiality as per regulations.
- Work effectively independently and collaboratively.
- Master's degree in social work, counseling, or psychology.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in Behavioral Health.
- 3-5 years of post-licensure clinical experience in Behavioral Health.
- Experience with Electronic Health Records.
- Ph.D. or Psy.D. in relevant field.
This position requires a mix of sedentary work in an office setting as well as local travel. Employees may need to work in varying weather conditions and maintain client confidentiality at all times.
SPECIFICATIONS
Supervision:Work will be monitored through meetings and regular communication with the supervisor.
Supervision Exercised:This position does not involve supervisory duties.
Contacts:Contact with volunteers, staff, clients, and external agencies is expected.
CONDITIONS OF HIRE
- Employment is "at will" and subject to termination by the employee or employer.
- Mandatory drug and alcohol screening for all employees.
- Criminal background checks are necessary for certain roles.
- First Aid/CPR certification required within 90 days of hire.
- Compliance with fitness standards, immunizations, and company policies.
