Position Summary:

The JetBlue Travel Products Engineer, Product reports directly to the General Manager of Product Engineering and is responsible for developing, testing, deploying, maintaining and improving technology products to support the evolution of travel products. The Product Engineer can change priorities and focus to meet business demands, excels when working on complex projects, is motivated to deliver results, and exhibits the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Developing the latest user-facing features using [...] and maintain existing [...] applications.
  • Knowledge of React and common tools used in the wider React ecosystem, such as [...], Redux, RESTful APIs, TypeScript, and remote deployment tools.
  • Knowledge of NodeJS, and frameworks such as NestJs.
  • Translating Figma designs and wireframes into high quality code, develop and manage technology products from conception to retirement.
  • Automate tests and deployment procedures to minimize downtime and disruption.
  • Create and promote a work environment focused on engineering excellence to attract, develop and encourage a culture of technical innovation.
  • Help manage a collection of external technology products used to deliver business products.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a combination of a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous related work experience.
  • Three (3) years' experience in an engineering role.
  • Good understanding of software engineering environments and standards.
  • Deep understanding of Internet technologies, protocols and methodologies for delivering web-based products.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and strategic time management skills.
  • Flexible and able to work at any time, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Available for occasional overnight travel (10%).
  • Able to pass a ten (10) year background check.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located.
  • Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

  • Experience with Google Tag Manager and Google Analytic.
  • Experience with end to end testing tools, such as Cypress.
  • Experience with TypeScript.
  • Knowledge of best accessibility practices - WCAG 2.
  • Coordinating with various teams working on distinct layers.
  • Maintaining a public profile and building relationships throughout the organization.
  • Five (5) years' experience in technology roles.

Crewmember Expectations:

  • Regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice.
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance.
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable Crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft.
  • Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun.
