1 year externship in a medical setting. Pediatric through geriatric populations. Vestibular evaluation, electrophysiology (Diagnostic ABR, Threshold ABR, VEMP, Ecogh), newborn hearing screens, CI evaluation/mapping, BAHA evaluation/programming, Auditory Processing evaluations. Participate on Cleft Palate/Craniofacial Team.

Externship site expects the extern to have mastered these skills before they begin their clinical externship: -basic audiograms
- coursework/observation in vestib
-coursework/observation in electrophysiology
-coursework in APD
-counseling experience Externship site expects the extern to learn/demonstrate these skills during their clinical externship: -problem-solving

  • Obtain thorough and relevant case history
  • Pediatric through adult audiometric testing
  • OAE testing
  • Diagnostic and threshold ABRs
  • Complete VNG testing
  • Cochlear implant evals/mappings
  • BAHA evals/programming Clinical opportunities that will be given to the extern:
