Iron Foreman

Mount Holly, NC

The Iron Foreman will supervise a team of ironworkers on various construction projects. Must possess a strong background in ironwork, including the installation and maintenance of structural steel and iron. You will be responsible for ensuring that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality.

Qualifications:

  • Experience performing Industrial Projects required (Chemical, Pulp & Paper, Heavy Industrial)
  • Able to comply with company and site Safety program enforcement.
  • Able to address field situations or realize when communication is needed to address variations.
  • Assist General Foreman in all daily aspects needed for project.
  • Reads, interprets, and works from blueprints, drawings, sketches, and other specifications on a variety of structures related to the construction project.
  • Inspect work for quality and adherence to project specifications.
  • Microsoft Office 365 preferred
  • Organizational Skills

Additional Functions

  • OSHA 10 or 30 Training preferred.
  • Read and interpret construction specifications.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma preferred.
  • 5+ years industrial Civil Foreman construction experience.
  • Strong knowledge of structural steel and ironwork.

Requirements:

  • Arrive at work on time, as scheduled, consistently, reliably, & complete each shift.
  • Follow all safety rules and standards for the company and for the site.
  • Understand and follow Instructions from the direct supervisor.
  • Ability to successfully pass DOE Background Requirements

This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment. The job requires occasionally remaining on one's feet in an upright position without moving for long periods of time, occasionally moving about on foot for long periods of time, remaining in a seated position for long periods of time, and/or climbing stairs, stepladders, extension ladders and scaffolding ladders. The job also requires the ability to raise or lower an object of approximately 5-50 pounds from one level to another, the ability to transport an object of up to 50 pounds a distance of up to 10 yards, usually holding it in the hands or arms, or on the shoulder, the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds of force frequently and a negligible amount of force constantly so that an object moves away from the force, and/or the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds of force frequently and a negligible amount of force constantly so that an object moves toward the force.

Must be capable of operating a standard 1/2-ton pick-up for occasional delivery and pick-up of materials and personnel and hold a valid, unrestricted motor vehicle operator's license issued by the state of residence, and the manual dexterity necessary to operate a standard desktop computer keyboard.
