Merchandiser II - Fargo, ND or Minneapolis, MN

Position Summary
This merchandiser position is for the Enderlin, ND multi-commodity oilseed processing plant. This position has the opportunity to be office out of Minneapolis, MN or Fargo, ND. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to be responsible for trading canola and sunflowers in North Dakota and South Dakota as well as work across processing plants and business units to spread seed accordingly. You will need to have strong communication and develop strong trusting relationship with customers. You will help manage our canola futures and cash positions/ inventory as well as sunflower cash position/inventory.
Description of Work PerformedDevelops key communication links within ADM to ensure optimal use of ADM facilities and market access, and understanding of market requirements to facilitate the effectiveness of ADM assetsAble to prepare and analyze basic profit and loss and other divisional reportsStrategically seek out new business that would enhance the profitability of the assets.Builds and maintains positive relationships with accounts that bring defined valueMaintains a clear customer account list and provides detailed background information in filesHandles all accounting related issues in a timely manner to ensure good customer serviceDevelops a good working knowledge of freight spreads and competitor activitiesWorks to make quick decisions in a fast market while accepting the responsibility to defend them logicallyDevelop clear understanding of local, national, world market, and trendsAggressively makes outbound phone calls to deliver and receive timely market informationPrice discovery and bid/offer maintenance to enhance risk management and pricingUnderstanding of margin calculations and their effect of commodity pricingConstantly works on induvial and personal development within the companyDevelops good understanding of local plant operationsWorks to attain positive, cooperative relationships with internal colleagues across divisions and responsibilitiesEffectively use communication channels for proper coordination within the office and other locationsPortrays a positive image of the company and self when interacting with customer and colleagues.Job Requirements3 plus years grain trading experienceBachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, supply chain managementDetail-oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet specific deadlines.High performer with initiative to learn other responsibilitiesEffective oral and written communication
