Description of Duties, Responsibilities and Expectations:



The Commercial Lender is responsible for the business development and service of the bank's commercial clients by providing extraordinary customer service to internal and external customers. The Commercial Lender participates in community and professional associates to aid in developing other commercial business as well as to help promote the bank's image.
Other Responsibilities

  • Handles all phases of commercial lending.
  • Responsible for overall credit quality, documentation, compliance and pricing in their loan portfolio.
  • Refers retail needs, including loan and deposit of commercial customers, to the appropriate lender or deposit expert.
  • Responsible for marketing non-loan products, such as trust services, to bank customers and prospects.
  • Fosters teamwork with loan department and branches.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

  • At least 2 years of combined credit underwriting, lending, business development and sales experience.
  • A college degree generally in finance, accounting and/or banking or equivalent work experience in the banking industry.
  • The ability to motivate or influence others is a material part of the job, requiring a significant level of diplomacy and trust. Obtaining cooperation (internally and/or externally) is an important part of the job.
  • Must have extensive knowledge of commercial lending practices and procedures.
  • Strong knowledge in analyzing business financial statements and assessing the viability of businesses; must have excellent communication and PR skills;
  • Demonstrated proficiency at intermediate level of sales skills and abilities for developing new business customer relationship.
