Motor Vehicle Dispatcher

This position serves as a Motor Vehicle dispatcher located in the Motor Pool office which is part of grounds and transportation, Environmental management Services at the Edward J. Hines VAMC, Hines, IL. The primary purpose of this position is to provide a wide range of dispatch, logistical and administrative support functions for the Patient transportation Program.

Major Duties:

• Assigns motor vehicles and operators for conveyance of passengers.
• Complies list of available vehicles.
• Assigns vehicles according to factors , such as length and purpose of trips, or passenger requirements.
• The Motor Vehicle dispatcher is directly responsible for the scheduling and planning of vehicle operations for the Patient Transportation program.
• Schedules and dispatch vehicles.
• Schedule s return pick up of General Administration (GSA) vehicles at the Fleet Management Center as required.
• Maintains/Update s the Comprehensive Automotive Reporting (CAR) data base.
• Prepares Federal Automotive Statement Tool (FAST) reports.
• Tracks and files vehicle trip tickets on a daily basis.
• Other related dispatch, administration or clerical duties assigned.
