Summary

This position is located in the Department of Defense, Office of the Inspector General (DoD OIG), Deputy Inspector General for Evaluations (DIG-EVAL).



Duties
  • The Supervisory Editor assists in clarifying and implementing writing and editing requirements within the EVAL component; and ensuring the activities of the assigned staff meet requirements.
  • Assists in the management of the DoD OIG Style Tips for All Reports manual and other reference tools updating them as necessary for the benefit of all OIG components.
  • Supervises the review of all assigned reports and other written materials for consistency of mechanics and expression, logical organization and development, and general readability.
  • Oversees draft products and finalizes evaluations policies to guarantee consistency of mechanics and syntax expression.
  • Provides significant editorial comments for reports/materials as needed to clarify intent, avoid misunderstandings, and ensure appropriate final presentation.
  • Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates; sets and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work.
