Redaptive is seeking a dynamic and driven Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to join our innovative team. As the CTO, you will play a pivotal role in leading and expanding our technology division, including product management and data science, overseeing both software and hardware engineering teams, and spearheading the development of our cutting-edge solutions.

Your primary responsibilities will include driving technological innovation, ensuring the highest standards of technical excellence, and fostering the continuous improvement of our products and services. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience managing large-scale software engineering teams and a comprehensive understanding of IT infrastructure, software development methodologies, DevOps practices, quality assurance standards, data science, hardware technologies, and firmware development.

You will be instrumental in steering our organization toward its strategic goals, leveraging your expertise in international team management and your proven track record of delivering successful outcomes in diverse and complex technical environments. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you will collaborate closely with executive leadership to align technology initiatives with business objectives and drive sustainable growth.

Our Technology:

At the heart of our operations lies a sophisticated meter data backhaul and management system, which collects real-time energy data from over 200,000 IoT devices. This platform is the foundation for various energy-saving models, internal workflows, and a range of customer-facing Software as a Service (SaaS) applications, making it integral to our mission of enabling energy efficiency for our clients.

Responsibilities and Duties

Leadership and Strategy: Collaborate with the CEO and VP of Products to develop and implement a comprehensive software and hardware engineering strategy aligned with the company's vision and objectives. Provide exceptional leadership and mentorship to the engineering and IT teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Set clear goals, define KPIs, and establish performance metrics to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of the engineering and IT teams.
Scaling Software Engineering Teams: Lead the growth and expansion of software engineering teams, ensuring the recruitment and retention of top-tier talent. Implement best practices for team structure, skill development, and talent acquisition to scale the engineering organization efficiently. Cultivate an inclusive and diverse work environment that encourages creativity and supports the professional growth of team members.
Technical Excellence: Oversee the design, development, and deployment of high-quality enterprise B2B software products, data science solutions, hardware, and firmware. Drive the adoption of modern software development practices, tools, and methodologies to enhance productivity and product quality. Ensure strict adherence to coding standards, architectural guidelines, and security practices throughout the development lifecycle. Champion and oversee the implementation of cutting-edge IT and cybersecurity infrastructure.
Collaboration and Communication: Foster cross-functional collaboration with teams across the organization, including Product Management, Design, and business leadership, to deliver integrated and seamless solutions in custom-built products and enterprise applications. Building, partnering, and buying experiences are critical. Communicate technical strategies, progress, and challenges to executive leadership and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
International Team Management: Effectively manage geographically dispersed software engineering and IT teams, promoting collaboration and cohesion across different locations and time zones. Develop strategies to leverage the diverse talents and expertise of international teams to drive innovation and excellence. Scale and nurture talent across respective regions, ensuring consistent development and growth opportunities for team members. Education and ExperienceMinimum of 15 years of progressive experience in leading and scaling software engineering teams, managing teams of up to 50+ engineers. Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field (advanced degree preferred). Extensive background in building enterprise B2B software platforms and applications, with a strong preference for experience in B2B marketplace development. Proficiency in AWS infrastructure, metering technologies, IoT, and energy modeling is highly desirable. Comprehensive understanding of IT, software development, DevOps, QA, data science, hardware, and firmware technologies. Demonstrated expertise in implementing modern software development practices and Agile methodologies. Track record of utilizing data-driven decision-making and metrics to drive team performance and project success. Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a proven track record of successful project delivery. Outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve common objectives. Experience working in an international environment and managing geographically distributed teams, fostering collaboration and cohesion across different regions.
