Incumbents typical work assignments may include the following:

The incumbent serves as a Capabilities Analyst for the AI2 providing program analysis, evaluation, and management recommendations on programs and processes associated with Joint Mission capabilities.

Develops policies, procedures, analyses, and recommendations relating to the Acquisition process and Capabilities investment review, approval, and funding for DoD systems.

Coordinates between AI2 and the Component Acquisition Executives, OSD Program Executive Offices (PEOs) and Program Managers for compliance to requirements, priorities, technologies, and functional architectures for related systems.

Analyzes changes to previously established policy in the interest of compliance with pertinent laws, regulations and Comptroller General Decisions relating to systems investments for the DoD.

Serves as liaison with acquisition programs under assigned portfolio's providing consistent guidance and feedback, as well as facilitating the flow of required information to the USD (A&S) as the Milestone Decision Authority.

Continually analyzes system capabilities on a program-by-program basis and recommends any necessary adjustments to ensure capability is delivered. Incumbent also acts to resolve implementation issues.
Provides oversight to ensure all statutory reporting requirements are met for acquisition programs within the assigned portfolio.
