Maintenance Supervisor

Position located at our sister hotel, the DoubleTree Amherst, NY

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the overall maintenance of the hotel. The person will identify needs and oversee the completion of the maintenance needs. Conduct walkthroughs and visually assess the safe and efficient maintenance and operation of the physical structure(s) of the hotel, all mechanical systems, electrical, HVAC systems and other related equipment. This person verifies the completion of all routine preventative maintenance, the completion of all repairs, and projects. The Maintenance Supervisor will maintain effective energy management. They will develop, recommend, implement and manage the engineering department's annual and long-term goals. Adhere to all corporate-required purchasing policies and controls, including, but not limited to all outside contractor bids, budgets and schedules.

The position does require the Maintenance Supervisor to perform repair and maintenance in an hands-on capacity. This position does require flexibility in schedule to work during days, evenings and weekends.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Vocational or technical training in a specific maintenance trade

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-year facilities maintenance experience
  • Previous supervisory experience a plus
  • Knowledge of building management/engineering to include electrical/HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, emergency systems and safe equipment usage
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools
  • A working knowledge of the Federal and State regulations on HVAC, paint products, plumbing and structural codes. Also knowledge regarding proper disposal of engineering byproducts
  • A working knowledge of OSHA standards and ability to ensure staff and contractor adherence to standards
  • Working knowledge of wall vinyl replacement, carpet installation, tile installation, drywall repairs, furniture repairs, electronic door lock systems
  • Working knowledge of phone systems, networking, internet equipment, cabling
  • Working knowledge of kitchen equipment/refrigeration
  • Working knowledge of chillers, cooling towers, circulator pumps and water treatment systems
  • Strong decision making skills, oral skills, and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate at all levels
  • Ability to work in a team environment and take initiative
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Computer skills (Word Processing, Spreadsheets)
  • Maintain tool inventory, cost controls, and product selection
  • Experience in managing utility systems, fire suppression systems, boilers
  • Working knowledge of pool operations and maintenance of pool equipment
  • Knowledge of ADA regulations
