Overview:

The Greene School is seeking a compassionate and dedicated School Counselor to join our dynamic team. As a School Counselor, you will play a crucial role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional well-being of our students. We are committed to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment where every student feels valued and supported in reaching their full potential.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide individual and group counseling sessions to students to address academic, personal, social, and emotional concerns.
  2. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop and implement strategies to support students' academic success and holistic development.
  3. Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify students' strengths, challenges, and needs.
  4. Develop and facilitate workshops and programs on topics such as study skills, stress management, conflict resolution, and social skills development.
  5. Serve as a resource for students, families, and staff members on matters related to mental health, crisis intervention, and community resources.
  6. Maintain accurate and confidential student records in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
  7. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress, concerns, and interventions.
  8. Stay informed about current trends and best practices in school counseling and education, and integrate this knowledge into practice.
  9. Support the school's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion by fostering an environment that celebrates and respects the unique backgrounds and identities of all students. Qualifications:
    1. Master's degree in School Counseling, Counseling Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
    2. State licensure or certification as a school counselor.
    3. Previous experience working as a school counselor or in a related counseling role preferred.
    4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with students, families, and colleagues.
    5. Knowledge of counseling theories, techniques, and interventions relevant to working with children and adolescents.
    6. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently manage a caseload of students.
    7. Commitment to upholding ethical standards and confidentiality in counseling practice.
    8. Demonstrated cultural competence and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds and experiences.
