RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE P&C CLAIMS CONSULTANT:
- Report commercial property and liability claims to the appropriate carrier(s) on behalf of our clients
- Ensure that clients understand the claims process and timelines
- Perform timely data entry of claims information into the agency management system
- Act as a liaison between client and carrier to facilitate the exchange of claims information as needed
- Monitor and manage claims for proper reserves, appropriate actions, and closure in accordance with MMA Bouchard Best Practices
- Resolves complex situations on own initiative whenever possible
- Identify problematic claims and take action to mitigate potential adverse effects
- Advocate on behalf of our clients during claim denials and reservation of rights; negotiate to achieve optimal coverage position
- Serve as a technical resource to sales and service teams to answer coverage and procedural questions
- Participate in onboarding and/or claims review calls with selected clients
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- College degree desirable; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Florida 2-20 License or 6-20 Adjuster License or their equivalent from another state
- Minimum of 3 years commercial insurance account management or multi-line claims experience
- Commercial coverage knowledge of the following: Automobile (1st party and liability), General Liability, Professional Liability, Property, Inland Marine, Employment Practices Liability, Directors & Officers Liability, Cyber Liability, Umbrella/Excess coverages.
- Strong working knowledge of policy language and coverage across (multiple lines of coverage is a plus)
- Working knowledge of latest Microsoft products
- Strong telephone and business writing skills along with knowledge of email etiquette
- Effective reasoning and analytical skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Responsive and self-motivated team player
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
