Summary

You will serve as a LEAD FIREFIGHTER (BLS/HAZMAT TECHNICIAN) in the FIRE & EMERGENCY SERVICES of NAS JRB NEW ORLEANS.



Duties
  • You will lead a crew of three or more firefighters assigned to staff a pumper, aerial ladder truck, or rescue vehicle in firefighting and rescue operations.
  • You will analyze the structural condition of a building to determine firefighting equipment and apparatus required to fight fire.
  • You will use hazard and risk assessment techniques to complete an initial hazardous materials incident analysis. You will prepare patients for transport to medical facilities.
  • You will operate firefighting equipment (e.g., pumps, foam generators, boom, ground sweep nozzles) to control or eliminate fires.
