The Animal Emergency & Referral Associates is seeking a Certified Veterinary Technician - Surgery in West Caldwell, NJSchedule:

Flexible days/hours

Compensation:

Based on experience and skill level. Starting at $25/hour for experienced Credentialed Technicians

Position Overview:

The main goal is to provide crucial support to Specialists in diagnostics, treatments, and procedures, ensuring top-notch care for patients. Paying attention to detail and upholding high cleanliness and care standards are essential. Effective communication with colleagues and doctors is vital for accuracy and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Practice "Fear Free" standards
  • Manage the daily OR schedule efficiently
  • Ensure safety and setup of each OR station
  • Complete pre-operative testing
  • Assist in patient preparation and anesthesia
  • Monitor patients during surgical preparation
  • Document patient vitals accurately
  • Assist in surgical procedures
  • Post-operative care and monitoring
  • Provide client education
  • Maintain department cleanliness
  • Train new staff members
  • Assist in other hospital areas as needed
Experience & Job Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience
  • Ability to perform Technician Assistant responsibilities
  • Knowledge of safety procedures
  • Understanding of medical terminology and equipment
  • Good communication skills
  • Team-oriented attitude
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Bachelors and/or Technician Certification preferred
Education Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Bachelors and/or Technician Certification preferred
