Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Assembler who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Batesburg, SC.

Accountabilities:

  • Assembles products efficiently and accurately by hand or using hand tools or portable powered tools.
  • Utilizes experience, selects the best hand tools or portable powered tools to assemble product in the most efficient manner.
  • Performs Setup and operates equipment as necessary, including performing routine maintenance, to produce or process products.
  • Operates basic test equipment such as DMM, continuity testers etc. for verifying wiring, contact resistance or locating faults.
  • Assembles products according to customers' needs following blueprints and specifications.
  • Painting cast iron steel and aluminum material, wet paint.
  • Inspects own work for accuracy, completeness and compliance to requirements, including HSE requirements, highest quality standards and Safety critical requirements.
  • Operate overhead crane, forklift, and other material handling equipment.

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • 2-3 years of expertise as an Associate Assembler or similar role in a manufacturing environment

Desired Skills/Knowledge:

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize work from multiple sources
  • Electro-mechanical assembly, mechanical assembly or industrial painting
  • Knowledge of the Product and Product families

Education Required:

High School or equivalent

Languages:

English-Proficient
