Overview AmTrust Specialty Insurance Services, a member of the AmTrust group of companies, is searching for an experienced and knowledgeable VP, Underwriting Specialty Programs to manage and lead a group of underwriters and assistants for our Specialty Unit. Coach team members on achieving goals and developing necessary skills that get results.Manage relationships with Managing General Agents to ensure lasting, profitable books of business.Perform audits to ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines Responsibilities Provide leadership, support and guidance to team membersDevelop opportunities to grow a book of business that produces profits.Proactively manages and monitors results of assigned underwriting team to achieve desired results.Implements business initiatives including prompt corrective action plans for programs with below threshold performanceRecommend and lead special projects to support program department profitability Qualifications A college degree required, in addition to property/casualty insurance experience, preferably years in an underwriting or product development role at an insurance company.Excellent written communication skills, including correct use of grammar, spelling and punctuation.The position requires strong PC skills, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.This concept encompasses but is not limited to human differences with regard to race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, culture, religion or disabilities.
