UMass Memorial Health is the health and wellness partner of the people of Central Massachusetts, being the largest health care system in the area and the clinical partner of UMass Chan Medical School.
The Department of Medicine is in search of a Medical Director in Transfusion Medicine to join the Transfusion Medicine Service at UMass Memorial Medical Center. Here are some key points about the role:
- The Medical Director in Transfusion Medicine will oversee all activities of the UMass Transfusion Service, which includes a full-service blood bank, inpatient consulting service, outpatient clinic, and apheresis & cellular therapy program.
- Academic rank will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
- Teaching opportunities involve informal and didactic teaching, as well as direct supervision of medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Encouragement to participate in research projects and present findings at national meetings.
- Seeking a candidate with a background in pathology and/or hematology, with additional training in transfusion medicine.
