Remote, Oregon, United States sybill Full time

About Sybill:

Based out of Silicon Valley, Sybill is a generative AI startup building an AI co-pilot for sales reps. We aim to pioneer a B2B recommendation engine to improve deal conversion rates with tailored, stage-specific advice. Our engine not only processes customer interactions, including behavioral cues, but also automates administrative tasks like note-taking and email follow-ups. Underpinned by custom LLMs and behavior AI, our evolving knowledge database is central to Go-to-Market strategies, continuously learning from each deal.

We grew 21x in ARR last year and serve 300+ businesses today. We secured $3.5M+ in funding from US-based investors. Our agile team of around 15 is situated in the San Francisco Bay Area, India and Indonesia and is committed to revolutionizing B2B customer interactions.
As a software engineer, you'll work on a day-to-day basis with Soumyarka (UCSD, Salesforce, Forbes Tech Council member), Ujwal (IITD, FB) and Mehak (Harvard, GE).

The Opportunity:

This unique role blends software engineering with customer interactions to build critical parts of our products with highest feedback velocity from our clients. Hence, we are looking for full-stack engineers who are passionate about interfacing with clients. They should also have a strong technical background, including experience working with Python, JavaScript (including frameworks such as React, Electron, etc.) and various NoSQL databases (such as MongoDB), familiarity with ML and AI, and experience working with AWS. The ideal candidate will also have communication and customer service skills, empathy, and ethical decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Software Engineering: Develop, test, and maintain robust software solutions primarily using Python, JavaScript, MongoDB, focusing on performance, scalability, and responsiveness to front-end requests.
  • Advanced Technical Support - Offer in-depth technical assistance to customers, troubleshooting software engineering issues involving AWS services and full-stack applications, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
  • Customer Feedback Documentation and Analysis: Systematically document customer interactions, feedback, and technical issues, contributing to knowledge base articles, and providing insights for refining online documentation and product enhancements.
  • US/Pacific Time zone Support: Given that a majority of our clientele are US-based, you'll need to be available for at least 6 hours between 7 am PT to 6 pm PT.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience as a software engineer or similar. Full-stack or backend experience is a must-have.
  • Technical Prowess: Proficiency in building enterprise-ready software using Python and JavaScript. Working knowledge of ML and AI. Experience with AWS
  • Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Strong customer service and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, team environment.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in computer science or a related field.

Interview Process:

  • Resume Shortlisting: After your resume is selected, you'll receive a link for a 1-hour take-home assignment.
  • Take-Home Assignment: This stage tests your proficiency in Python, Javascript, MongoDB, and AWS. We also assess your communication skills during this round. Upon successful evaluation of your responses, we'll arrange an interview for you.
  • Technical Team Interview: In this phase, we delve deeper into your technical abilities and explore how you've addressed customer issues in past roles.
  • Offer Extended: If everything aligns, we're excited to welcome you aboard

Perks:

  • Collaborative Growth: Engage closely with a gifted and diverse team. And yes, this isn't just a cliché – you'll be collaborating with alumni from Stanford, UCSD, and Harvard, as well as founders from Silicon Valley startups.
  • Impactful Engagement: In this role, witness your work in action, shaped by customer feedback. As an invaluable member of our agile team, you'll continuously grow and apply your skills in real-world scenarios.
  • Remuneration: Our compensation package is competitive, offering equity and a wide array of benefits. (Total Compensation Range: $20K - $75K, fairly-adjusted to your geography).
  • Global Presence: We value output over location. No matter where you are globally, your excellence is what counts. We especially welcome candidates from LATAm, Canada, Australia, Europe and Asia
