Job Description

Prepares and positions patients appropriately for vascular studies. Sets-up, operates and maintains related diagnostic equipment.

Job Responsibility

    • Prepares patients for vascular study by determining necessary anatomical positioning of patients in accordance with departmental policy.
    • Operates ultrasonic diagnostic equipment to examine various parts of body (i.e upper and lower extremity venous and arterial duplex, ABI/pvr, carotid duplex, trans-cranial duplex/Doppler, visceral vascular, graft surveillance, vein mapping, EVAR/abdominal aortic duplex, etc.
    • Measures and calculates pressures and pulse on peripheral arteries and veins throughout body (carotid, aorta, femoral, popliteal, saphenous).
    • Notifies physician to review and ascertain whether further examination, is required.
    • Prepares and transmits reports and maintains examination records.
    • Maintains equipment in proper working order, makes minor adjustments, and requests repair service, as required.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Job Qualification

  • Graduate of an accredited medical sonography program, required.
  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) with Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year sonography experience in hospital setting, required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.

The salary range for this position is $51.64-$62.06/hour
