The Talent Acquisition Support team at San Manuel is responsible for the maintaining the applicant tracking system, recruiting support processes, reporting, and management of the applicant lifecycle. Reporting to the Talent Acquisition Director, the Onboarding Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day support process for the end of the hiring lifecycle. This position collaborates cross-functionally with the Recruiting and Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) teams, and Human Resources leadership on driving continuous improvement in the hiring lifecycle.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Builds and manages a team of Talent Acquisition Representatives by planning and organizing work to drive the execution of departmental goals and initiatives; establishes procedures, practices, work methods, and sets priorities to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of pre-employment administrative processes.

2. Maximizes overall transaction accuracy and efficiency as related to the application and end of hiring lifecycle processes, through data analysis, reporting, and systems process oversight.

3. Oversees new hire candidate progress through pre-employment, completion of the hiring process, gaming license process, and supervision of New Employee Orientation (NEO) scheduling procedures to ensure timely completion while maintaining compliance, integrity and providing "best in class" service.

4. Ensures compliance with applicable employment laws through creation of policies, procedures, best practices and audits.

5. Responsible for Vendor implementation, service monitoring and quality assurance while representing the department in regards to vendor relationships and communications.

6. Work with and support various stakeholders to understand their organization and people needs, build effective engagement strategies to support those needs and execute on plans with actions that tie back to the team's goals and objectives.

7. Leads and assists in special projects including systems and process improvements, as assigned.

8. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.


Supervisory Responsibilities

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning reviewing and directing work; evaluating and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Makes hiring decisions and designs individual development plans with succession planning in mind for all key roles.


Education/Experience/Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Human Resources or related field is required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience in a Human Resources department.
  • 3 years experience overseeing business processes (including reporting, workflows, requisitions, hiring lifecycles) is preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience required.
  • Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements indicated above.
  • Equivalent combination of progressive, relevant and direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational/experience requirements indicated above.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality by being highly ethical and discreet while handling sensitive information.
  • Strong time management and problem solving skills, excellent judgment, and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks effectively along with strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • Capable of producing accurate written communication that is clear, concise and complete.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) is required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish personal rapport with internal and external clients, easy to approach, and acts with sensitivity and patience.
  • Must exhibit a positive attitude, respect for others, a result-oriented approach and ability to work independently as well as collectively.

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations
  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
