JOB SUMMARY

The Sanitizer performs routine cleaning and sanitizing of packaging and supporting equipment, also general cleaning, and lubrication of packaging equipment. : This role may work independently but does not train other Sanitizers or Production Mechanics. Takes direction from the Assistant Group Leader, Group Leader, and/or Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Follows and performs the cleaning and sanitizing of production equipment according to written S.O.P.'s.

2. Occasionally assists in the reassembly of pumps, manifolds, etc. after sanitation is complete.

3. Performs general cleaning of packaging equipment, such as vacuum pump filters, pneumatic air filter/water traps etc.

4. Performs general and specific lubricating functions to chains, bearings, shafts, etc.

5. Assists in the stocking and organization of spare machine parts, also consumables such as nuts, bolts, vacuum cups, etc.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Practices good housekeeping.

2. Performs and assumes other duties and responsibilities as may be required by the Production Supervisor.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

1. A high school graduate, or equivalent.

2. The knowledge and skills required for this position are typically acquired with 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment.

3. Ability to use cleaning equipment such as brushes, scrubbers, hot water hose, etc.

4. Considerable interpersonal skills are required to interact with internal customers.

5. Must be able to learn and perform lubricating techniques that are common to machinery components.

6. Must be able to read and write the English language.

7. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

8. Ability to learn and apply accrued knowledge of standard Building Maintenance procedures.
