The Job OpportunityThe role of Engineering Manager for Water & Wastewater involves overseeing the engineering aspects of various types of projects, including traditional, design-build, design-bid-build, and collaborative delivery initiatives such as advanced treatment facilities, underground conveyance, and carbon-neutral solutions. In this position, you will have the chance to:
- Deliver prominent projects for major municipal clients on the West Coast and potentially in other regions across the US.
- Lead a diverse team of engineers and technicians to produce results for complex and challenging projects.
- Supervise and guide engineering staff, identifying opportunities for growth and development.
- Participate in the development of new business for major municipal clients along the West Coast and potentially in other regions across the US.
- Manage budgets, schedules, and client correspondence in support of projects.
Please note: This position involves a hybrid model: 2 days per week remote, 3 days in-office at our Walnut Creek, CA location.

We help clients utilize our cutting-edge solutions and expertise to modernize water infrastructure, optimize asset utilization, achieve performance targets, cut costs, and mitigate risks, regardless of the direction of the water industry.

Key DutiesGeneral Duties:
- Provide guidance and direction on department design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes, and B&V policies.
- Support continuous improvement efforts and change management.
Project Execution Duties:
- Create a variety of complex engineering deliverables for multiple projects.
- Coordinate with internal and external team members on complex projects.
- Manage project changes directly with the Client.
Technical Expertise:
- Lead large multi-discipline teams to deliver on project requirements.
- Lead complex water and wastewater treatment projects.
Supervise the work of others. Responsible for recruitment, disciplinary actions, and payroll administration of subordinates.
Preferred Qualifications- PE license.
- Previous engineering consulting experience.
- Experience in executing multi-discipline WWTP upgrades and expansion projects.
- Experience as an Engineering Manager in the water and/or wastewater field.
- Experience supporting proposals with technical concepts and approaches.
- Must have a bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience.
Most positions will typically require professional registration or licensure in the designated home office country or active pursuit of such registration.
