Job Description BAE Systems is seeking an experienced Chief Data Architect who will be responsible for defining a Big Data implementation framework in support of a contract tasked with designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining onsite and cloud-based enterprise IT solutions for an intelligence customer in the Washington Metropolitan Area.

Successful Candidates will be responsible for the end-to-end planning, building, and deploying of the customer's software systems and will oversee and implement the programming of well-constructed, testable code. Additionally, they will be responsible for the design, development, test, deployment, and use of associated advanced analytic and data science tools including, data visualization, link analysis, correlation, sophisticated analytics programs, machine learning, and statistical methods to prepare data for use in predictive and prescriptive modeling.

The ideal Chief Data Architect will have a broad technical background, a solid understanding of applicable analytics, and experience in producing effective solutions. They must be able to recommend and engineer software solutions from conception to deployment. Additionally, they will be key in evaluating customer requirements and determine existing product reach, potential restrictions, and future development feasibility. This role is hands on and fully integrated within a team of other subject matter experts. The ideal candidate embraces the concepts of servant leadership and being an agent of change, as part of a larger team.

Additional Responsibilities include:Translating mission needs into Big Data system, analytic, and visualization tools requirements.Working with multi-disciplinary teams to design, guide engineering solutions, and then explore, examine, and visualize data to extract knowledge and insights from large and complex collections of digital data.Managing digital data that comes from many different data providers.Required Education, Experience, & Skills Bachelor's degree in computer science, data analytics, software engineering, or related technical field5+ years of hands-on experience with Big Data applications, such as Hadoop, and associated applications (e.g., administration, CM, monitoring, performance tuning, etc.)Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Experience working in a government mission Data Exploitation environment (e.g., acquiring data, storing data, processing data, analyzing data, visualizing data, turning data into intelligence products, disseminating data, and knowledge management)Experience supporting a cloud computing environment (e.g., private, hybrid, and/or public)Experience leading and managing cross-functional technology teamExperience leading major programming/scripting languages like Java, Linux, C+ +, PHP, Ruby, Python and/or RExperience working with ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, and/or PentahoExperience designing solutions for multiple large data warehouses with cluster and parallel architecture as well as high-scale or distributed platformsExperience in the research and development of applications/services in disciplines such as: Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, Conceptual Modeling, Statistical Analysis, Predictive Modeling, and Hypothesis testingPay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $ $250400

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
