The Payroll Specialist position is a major contributor to the organization in regards to ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of the weekly/bi weekly employee payroll. They set up and maintain employee files, process changes, field questions and communicate with all employees. This position also supports key areas of the Human Resources departments.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain employee database

Process employee payroll each week

Payroll reporting

Answer employee questions as they arise

Benefit data knowledge

Manage garnishments, contributions, 401k, flex and other payables

Assist with training, registration and communication

Miscellaneous filing projects

Assist with Performance Review process

Support the development and maintenance of HRIS Module

Misc. admin and clerical duties

Participate in screening interviews

Must be able to handle high-pressure situations

Other projects as needed

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Associates Degree or some post-secondary education
  • Payroll experience - 2-4 years
  • Large scale payroll experience a huge plus employees)
  • Microsoft Office knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • ADP payroll platform specifically Time and Attendance
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Positive attitude and professional behavior
  • Previous HR experience a plus
