Location: Herndon, VA (fully on-site)

Pay: $ /hour depending on experience

Description:

Fraud/BSA Specialist have an exciting opportunity to working with credit union located in Herndon, VA. This role requires 3-5 years in a similar position and knowledge of BSA/AML software. The Fraud specialist will be responsible for conducting investigations of fraudulent activities and the prevention and recovery of losses sustained by such activities.

A Day in the Role:

- Reviews applications that come in online from associations. Brings questions to the attention of the Risk Management Officer.

- Performs thorough review of risk-related daily & monthly reports. Reviews charge-offs and submits Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) as needed.

- Develops, maintains and implements policies and procedures to detect and prevent the occurrence of fraudulent activity.

- Assists in the risk assessment for new products and risk ratings of vendors.

- Educates Credit Union employees to identify and respond to potential security violation situations.

- Assists the Trainer in assigning annual compliance training, and conducts annual risk related training

- Coordinates internal cash audits as requested.

- Assists with audit coordination and follow up on findings or action items for the Credit Union.

- Prepares various reports for management to update status of current investigations.

Qualifications:

- 3-5 years as a BSA/Fraud Specialist

- Risk management and BSA certification preferred

- Knowledge of BSA/AML software
