Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to coordinate and assure productivity and staff accountability for the planning, development,\r
implementation, and evaluation of the goals and objectives of the training component of the\r
Maryland WIC Program.� This position will assist in monitoring local agency compliance with federal regulations\r
and state policy and procedures to ensure quality program services. This position is a key staff\r
person responsible for training all new WIC staff throughout the State. This position also provides technical\r
assistance to local agency staff related to certification and eligibility determination.\r

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:��A Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Community Health, Nutrition or Public Health. \r
Experience: Five years of experience providing professional dietetic or nutrition services, three years�must have been in a public health or community setting and one year�must have been at the administrative, consultative or supervisory level. \r
Notes:\r
1. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in Community Health, Nutrition or Public Health�for two years of the required general professional�nutrition or dietetic services experience. \r
2. Candidates may substitute education as determined by the Maryland State Board of Dietetic Practice under the licensing requirements for Nutritionists and Dietitians and six years of experience providing professional dietetic or nutrition services, three years�must have been in a public health or community setting and one year�must have been at the administrative, consultative or supervisory level�for the required education and experience.\r
3.�Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service�experience as a commissioned officer in Dietitian and Nutritionist classification or Dietitian and Nutritionist specialty codes in the�Dietitian field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.\r

Experience in a supervisory role\r
Experience evaluating and providing feedback to staff regarding abilities�\r

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1. Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as a Dietitian or Nutritionist from the Maryland State Board of Dietetic Practice, 4201 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21215 prior to permanent appointment. \r
2. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland. \r
