The University of Miami Health System, Miller School of Medicine is initiating a search for a Cardiovascular Staff Physician.
Essential Job Functions:
Meet with patients to learn about their medical histories and symptomsConduct diagnostic tests to determine the cause and nature of diseaseExamine and interpret test results, and explain them to patientsDiscuss with patients possible treatment methodsPrescribe medication, conduct noninvasive procedures, and perform surgeryCoordinate medical staff for tests and procedureRecommend postoperative care, and educate patients about how to lead healthier livesObtain continuing education by attending conferences and reading medical publicationsPosition will dedicate 80% of the time in Cardiovascular Medicine (5 sessions of outpatient clinic, 2 sessions of ECHO reading and 6-7 weeks of CCU and cardio consults, and 20% in Executive Medicine, conducting cardiology consultationsMain practice locations will be Uhealth Kendall, and Lennar Foundation. Patient safety is a top priority. As a result, during the Influenza ("the flu") season (September through April), the University Of Miami Miller School Of Medicine requires all employees who provide ongoing services to patients, work in a location (all Hospitals and clinics) where patient care is provided, or work in patient care or clinical care areas, to have an annual influenza vaccination. Failure to meet this requirement will result in rescinding or termination of employment.
