Primary Purpose

This position will support the Live and Agribusiness Controller and Accounting Managers. Provide back-up support for month-end close, daily and weekly reporting and other ad-hoc projects. Train in all Live Accounting areas to develop broad accounting knowledge.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Performs various daily, weekly, and monthly duties. Completes special projects for the Live and Agribusiness Controller and/or Accounting Managers. Provides backup to the Accounting Analysts and the Accounting Managers.
  2. Completes month-end close functions within areas of expertise.
  3. Cross-trains for all positions under the Controller umbrella to provide backup coverage as needed. Continues to learn about the industry while developing competency and commitment.
  4. Prepares ad-hoc reporting and reconciliations as needed. Learns the closing process.
  5. Promotes and maintains a safe and secure work environment in accordance with Mountaire policies.

Qualifications

  • BS in Accounting or Finance.
  • 2-3 years' experience in a related field.
  • Proficient in Excel and able to learn new systems.
