Compensation
Responsibilities

  • Participates in all geological activities undertaken by or for the company
  • Contributes to the company's long term raw material and provides assessments to senior management
  • Under supervision, proposes minerals development projects as necessary to maintain the raw materials supply to the plants
  • Manages project costs to provide the necessary results while complying with budgetary requirements
  • Works with plant personnel regarding issues with raw materials, water supply and/or rock quality
  • Investigates potential new sources of mineral raw materials through research, field reconnaissance, mapping and sampling as necessary; assists lab with preparation of samples and complete sample submission forms
  • Seeks out, identifies and stakes mining claims on federal or state lands for needed rock and mineral raw materials; monitors and maintains legal status of all mining claims
  • Plans and conducts mapping, sampling and drilling efforts as necessary to provide resources and reserves estimates for company held mineral deposits
Education

Bachelor's degree in Geology

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Experience in field mapping, rock identification and mineralogy, as well as completed coursework in stratigraphy, mineralogy and structural geology
  • Able to travel to company facilities and mineral properties regularly
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Able to utilize GPS survey equipment as required and has working knowledge of AutoCAD software
  • Able to learn and utilize Computerized Geologic Modelling software including Surpac and Mine Scheduler
  • Working knowledge of hydrology preferred
Conditions of Employment

Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
