Responsibilities

1. Examines patients, obtains medical histories and treats acute and chronic illnesses2. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic tests3. Works with practice management to ensure proper compliance with billing, coding and CPT code assignment10. Achieves and maintains optimal patient access11. Provides interdepartmental medical consultation as requested12. Participates in the development of medical protocols, standard procedures and management of patient-care-related activities13. Provides on-call coverage14. Gives feedback to and accepts feedback from all staff in respectful manner15. Acts in a positive and professional manner, complying with practice policies, procedures and federal and state laws16. Qualifications

EDUCATION

MD or MBBS; completion of an accredited medicine psychiatry residency program

EXPERIENCE

Completion of the above educational programs.

LICENSURE

Licensed to practice medicine in the state of CT. ABIM certification as noted above.

PHYSICAL DEMAND

MMR is required. Varivax (chicken pox vaccine) or evidence of prior chicken pox is required. Hepatitis B (or signed declination) is required for those with potential exposure to blood/body fluids. Tdap and influenza vaccination are strongly encouraged. May be exposed to infectious diseases in the setting of caring for sick patients. Standing, walking and sitting most of day. Working with lightweight equipment.
