Purpose and Scope:
Manage the operation and performance of a group's Information Technology (IT) function.
Essential Responsibilities:
Responsible for the overall functioning and performance of a group's IT functions.
Participate in proposal efforts to develop new business opportunities in the IT arena.~Attend technical conferences and seminars to keep abreast of new software and hardware product developments and identify changes and trends in computer and systems technology to advise management personnel on new technologies and system requirements.~Assist to determine company-wide information needs and help to develop overall strategy for information technology.~Act to assure integrity of corporate data, proprietary information and related intellectual property through information security and access management.
Monitor minimum performance relative to disaster recovery, security, software currency, documentation and maintainability.~Perform research for appropriate hardware and software requirements.~Write reports and makes presentations to management on networking issues.~Delegate portions of activities and responsibilities as necessary to group's IT staff.
Ensure that the responsibilities, authorities and accountability of all direct subordinates are defined and understood.~Develop required technical and management documentation.
~Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills and
Abilities Required:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology.
Minimum of seven years of IT management experience involving the development and management including applications, development, IT operations, infrastructure, support, reengineering processes, database management, data mining, platform conversions, MIS assessment tools, networking (internal tools & external including e-mail and Internet), telecommunications and phone mail systems, and organizational development.
Position may require travel. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.Work Environment, Physical Demands, and
Mental Demands:
Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communications, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.
