Job Description

About the role:

The position is responsible for the receiving, segregation, sorting, and storage of human blood plasma in preparation of plasma production runs in the Teardown department. Manufacturing Technician I will perform basic troubleshooting tasks for the Automated Plasma Dispositioning System (APDS) Sorting Line. Under the direction of a Supervisor or Lead Operator, Technician I executes all processes in production, while strictly following cGMP, environmental health and safety guidelines and other related regulations that could apply. Technician I will participate in both departmental projects and any quality working teams when applicable. Assigned training records must be kept up to date. Due to business need, employees may work overtime and support operations on an alternate shift.

How you will contribute:

Support all local manufacturing activities in Plasma Operations Clean production area per cGMP Participate on Continuous Improvement teams Perform plasma loading, carton opening, carton disposal, and MES functions to support APDS sorting line operations based on Teardown plasma schedule Perform cycle counts, bin diving, inventory count, and pallet spot check Segregate plasma units to be processed with an "On Hold" or "Quarantine" status Follow basic safety rules, SOPs, cGMP, work rules and company policies Complete and/or verify documentation following GDDP Operate PIT equipment, including forklift and pallet jack Perform truck receiving transactions in APDS Perform unloading and segregation of plasma arriving from donor centers Perform mandatory stretching at start of shift according to the department stretching program May perform removal of hazardous waste, if applicable What you bring to Takeda: High school diploma or GED. Some related work experience preferred Must be proficient in written and oral English Will read and follow detailed written instructions Will apply quantitative analysis to analyze process performance Must be proficient in different mathematical disciplines and be able to work with both the metric and USA standards of measurement May require weekend and holiday work. Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) Knowledge of basic chemical and biological safety procedures May require immunization before performing work within the manufacturing area Must have basic computer skills Important Considerations At Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product. In this role, you may: May be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and other clean room garments daily. This may include safety shoes, safety glasses, aprons, face shields, lab coats, full body gowns, hair nets and gloves and hearing protection. Need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment. Work in a cold, wet environment. Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours. Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection. Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 lbs. In general, the position requires a combination of sedentary work and walking around observing conditions in the facility.
