We are seeking an experienced and motivated CAD Engineer to join our growing team. You will work with the Engineering group to produce accurate shop drawings and collateral material for use by our customers and field staff to install and commission the fire alarm and other other systems we represent. As your employer, we will subsidize 82.5% of the cost your medical benefits. Other benefits are available for purchase by the employee, i.e. vision, dental, etc... New hires receive 15 days of PTO to start beginning January 1, prorated prior to January 1. PTO increases with years in service. Employees are paid for 10 company holidays. The CAD Engineer is responsible for the following:

  • Working with the Engineering supervisors to plan and develop shop drawing floorplans, riser diagram and control equipment diagrams responsive to the job scope of work.
  • Ensure accuracy by understanding job requirements and contract documents.
  • Utilizing AutoCAD automation to streamline and speed output.
  • Record labor hours per project in our accounting software.
  • Be available for overtime work when required.

The qualified candidate should possess the following qualifications:

  • Three (3) years experience working in AutoCAD
  • Fluent English verbal and written skills
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Have a basic understanding of electricity, electronics, and fire alarm systems
  • National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technology (NICET) is a plus
  • Experience and knowledge of Siemens fire alarm equipment is a plus
  • Ability to work independently on assignments
  • Ability to read contract drawings, specifications, equipment data/installation sheets and other contract documents
  • Strong computer and organizational skills

This is an in-office position.
