System Administrator III - Windows

ManTech is seeking a motivated, mission-oriented Windows System Administrator III to support a pivotal Defense Health Agency (DHA) program. This person will work with an experienced project team performing key tasks for a suite of systems that are instrumental in supporting the management of Medical Logistics (MEDLOG) business processes in Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs), warehouses and in-field environments. Job responsibilities will include performing system administration planning and deployment activities to support tech and software refresh for DoD and VA sites running MEDLOG applications.

T he program is based in Fort Detrick, Maryland. This is a hybrid position. Expanded telework options may be available depending on location or on a case-by-case basis.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide operational support for Military Medical Logistics IT systems
  • Complete day to day Operations & Maintenance tasks
  • Perform operating system software updates, upgrades and patches
  • Perform technical evaluations, analysis and troubleshooting for all supported servers in response to help desk tickets including, server failures, full systems outages and troubleshooting
  • Support deployment planning activities, to include identifying and system administration tasks associated with swapping servers for tech and software refresh
  • Manage SSL certificate renewals, requests, and troubleshooting
  • Support security vulnerability remediation tasks
  • Implement and deploy production servers at each site running MEDLOG applications
  • Support .NET Applications and IIS/Web Applications
  • Provide support for Oracle applications
  • Support server monitoring \ alerts through use of Nagios
  • Provide remote system administration to ensure production servers are operational, perform systems/software maintenance upgrades, and troubleshoot server and network connectivity issues

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 4 years of server administrator experience with administration of Windows Server 2016
  • Possess approved DoD M IA baseline certification required for the IAT II position category and level [one of: CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP, CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH]

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of server administrator experience
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience with Medical Logistics or Logistics (especially DMLSS and/or LogiCole)
  • Experience working with Defense Health Agency (DHA) customer
  • Experience working in a Cloud-hosted environment such as Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Experience in DevSecOps practices
  • Experience working within teams utilizing SDLC methodologies such as Agile
  • Experience with Windows 2019
  • Experience with SQL Server 2016

Clearance Requirement:

  • Must be a US Citizen and eligible to obtain Public Trust Suitability
  • Will be subject to a Tier 3 investigation for CAC eligibility only

Physical Requirements:

  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations; must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
  • The person in this position will need to be able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer
