Delaware North Parks and Resorts is looking for full-time Food Runners to join the team at Tenaya Lodge At Yosemite in Fish Camp, California. As a Food Runner, your main task will be to promptly respond to changing needs within the dining area and expedite food from the kitchen to our guests as fast as possible.

  Responsibilities
  • Transport food swiftly from the kitchen to customers by managing food ticket orders, organizing them in kitchen stations, and informing servers when dishes are ready.
  • Prepare some food items and ensure garnishes are added before serving.
  • Coordinate with Chef and kitchen staff for timely food preparation and delivery.
  • Handle any necessary table-side service like taking orders, delivering, and explaining the menu to customers.
  • Maintain good knowledge of all menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods; able to identify items by appearance.
  • Assist captains and back servers in presenting courses and explaining menu items if needed.
  • Communicate effectively with guests, colleagues, and management.
  • Execute opening, mid, and closing duties as directed by management.
  Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of experience or training as a Runner or Busser in a similar dining style setting.
  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be 18 years or older.
  • No high school diploma or GED required.
  Physical Requirements
  • Continuous standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive motions; may include climbing stairs.
  • Able to lift up to 35 pounds for setup, service, and cleanup.
  • Maneuver between tables and around corners easily. Visual and hearing abilities to take orders and prepare checks.
