Maywood, Illinois, United States Loyola University Medical Center Full time

Loyola Medicine is offering full-time 4th Year AuD Externship positions for the year (3 rd Year position for 3-year programs).

The Department of Audiology employs clinical audiologists at the Loyola University Medical Center and four satellites.

Audiology works closely with the Otolaryngology program, which has been nationally ranked for its high performance in achieving excellent results during challenging ENT cases.

Loyola's Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery residency is known as one of the best in the United States.

Together with Otology, Loyola Audiology offers a medical model of hearing management including cochlear implants for adults, cochlear implants for single-sided deafness and/or tinnitus, and osseointegrated implants.

Externs can expect a dynamic experience with adult patients for diagnostic audiologic and electrophysiologic procedures (diagnostic ABR, intraoperative monitoring of the auditory nerve for acoustic neuroma surgeries), VNG, implantable hearing devices, and hearing aids.

The rotations are primarily with adult patients; if a special interest in pediatrics is desired, it may be possible to be placed in the pediatric ENT clinics for diagnostic evaluations, as well as threshold ABRs in the operating room.
