Serves as a tele presenter per scope of practice, during clinical video telehealth serving as a tele presenter per scope of practice, during clinical video telehealth (CVT) and VA Video Connect (VVC) encounters including tasks such as establishing and maintaining video conferencing connections, making introductions between patient site and provider site, following instructions of a clinician to facilitate an effective clinical encounter.

Receives and schedules requests for simple and complex intra-facility, and inter-facility telehealth appointments using an electronic resource-based scheduling system.

Develops reporting procedures, sampling techniques and measurements at various points in the telehealth processes to identify/analyze inherent weaknesses in work and procedures.

Provides a full range of care to patients with a variety of physical and psychological needs including Medical Specialty Clinics including but not limited to cardiology, gastroenterology, orthopedics, rheumatology, neurology, renal, and more.

The clinical specialty care needs may pivot.

Assists the RN/Health Care Professionals and other staff in proactively identifying and addresses the Veteran's needs and is able to readily recognize the more subtle signs & symptoms of changes in the Veteran's condition and takes appropriate action.

Teaches and documents health concepts to Veteran, including learning needs and readiness to learn. Is given general direction for seeking out and participating in learning opportunities for the Veteran.

Demonstrates ability to use independent judgment in selecting the most appropriate application of procedures and guidelines, varying the order and sequence of assigned procedures based on the patients' condition.

Prepares and administers prescribed oral, topical, subcutaneous, controlled substances, intravenous piggybacks, continuous intravenous infusions, and injectable medications according to policy and procedure.

Correctly documents medications given or omitted in Bar Code Medication Administration (BCMA) according to established policy and procedures. Documents effects of medications.

Demonstrates ability to serve as a responsible member of the nursing team and interact with patients, family members, professional and supportive personnel who provide patient care, and with members of other services.

Supports new incoming programs for specialty care programs and pilots enhancing initiatives that bring innovative healthcare to veterans.
