Job Description

The S&OP Planner role is responsible for collaboration with various departments to ensure optimal demand, supply, and inventory balances globally with a focus on customer satisfaction. The goal is to balance supply and demand within a 0-18/24-month time horizon. This role is located in Charlotte, NC and will be responsible for demand and supply planning for our Advanced Energy Storage Materials business which is part of our Energy Storage GBU.

Key Responsibilities:

Demand Planning:

  • Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts using historical data, market trends, and sales input.
  • Collaborate with sales, business, and finance to incorporate business plans and market intelligence into the demand plan.
  • Monitor and adjust forecasts based on changes in market conditions, sales trends, and supply constraints.

Supply Planning:

  • Create and maintain supply plans that align with demand forecasts and production capacities.
  • Coordinate with plant production, production planning and tolling team to ensure timely availability of materials and products.
  • Optimize inventory levels to meet customer demands while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.

S&OP Process Management:

  • Lead the monthly S&OP meetings, facilitating cross-functional collaboration and decision-making.
  • Present demand and supply plans, highlighting key issues and recommending actions to balance supply and demand.
  • Track and report key performance metrics related to forecast accuracy, inventory levels, and customer service.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Analyze data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement in the S&OP process.
  • Prepare regular reports and dashboards for senior management, providing insights and recommendations.
  • Utilize advanced analytical tools and techniques to support decision-making.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the S&OP process.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging trends, and new technologies in supply chain and demand planning.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives to drive business growth and operational excellence.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, operations, mathematics, engineering or related field. MBA or relevant certification (e.g., APICS CPIM, CSCP) is a plus.
  • 3-5 years of experience in supply chain planning, demand planning, or a related role.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and forecasting techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
  • Proficiency in S&OP software and advanced Excel skills. Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • High levels of personal integrity when conducting the professional affairs of the organization, and dealing with sensitive and confidential data
  • An understanding of strategic business objectives and the ability to drive results toward them
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders and drive to key decisions
