The work schedule for this position is: Tuesday - Saturday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Performs routine cytogenetic tests and molecular cytogenetics tests independently with accuracy and efficiency; develops new testing procedures.
  • Perform FISH and Chromosomes analysis.
  • Performs all types of cytogenetics tests established in the lab.
  • Monitors the performance of the equipment and provides expertise in technical troubleshooting.
  • Protects patient confidentiality and privacy.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's in a Biological Science or related science plus one year of cytogenetics experience required OR Bachelor's in Medical Lab Science/Clinical Lab Science/Cytogenetics or equivalent plus 1 year of experience preferred
  • Certified by the National Credentialing Agency (NCA) as a Clinical Laboratory Specialist in Cytogenetics (CLSp-CG) is preferred.
