Java Web Developer

Location:
Skillman, NJ OR Chicago, IL – Hybrid (6x a month)

Get To Know The Team:
SS&C is seeking a Java Web Developer to join our Trade Thru Development Team. This person will design, develop and implement documented as well as verbal functional specifications. This person will provide support for applications deployed in the private cloud/network.

Candidates will demonstrate problem-solving skills, readiness to collaborate with internal teams including development and business teams, and an ability to design solution fixes and either implement them or collaborate on the implementation.

Successful candidates should possess strong technical skills and an ability to adapt to changing priorities.

What You Will Get To Do:

What You Will Bring:
Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, Computer Science or related field
Minimum 4-5 years equivalent work-related experience in a Full Stack Web Developer role
Experience with a few of the following would be preferred, along with the aptitude to learn the others: Java, JSP,JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, JQuery and , HTML/CSS, NodeJS, and any other modern languages you may work in
Additional experience with SQL, YAML, XML, JSON
Experience with modern source control tools such as GitHub, CVS or SVN.
Exposure to Agile methodologies
Exposure to automated testing, BDD (Behavior Driven Development)/TDD (Test Driven Development).
Ability to determine root cause of end user reported issues/concerns and provide solutions to mitigate.
Ability to be proactive, exercise appropriate judgement, and the ability to successfully meet deadlines.
Knowledge of cloud fundamentals
Understanding of Web APIs/ Web Services
A passion for continuous learning as well as the ability to learn quickly and apply new skills
Identify opportunities for improvement in current processes
A team player who communicates and collaborates well with others, both inside and across all related teams.
Nice to Have
Knowledge of/experience in Financial Services Industry
