DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
- Full time professional positions provide classroom instruction for alternative school students in a small setting.
- OOI teachers must be able to provide instruction in a variety of subjects along with their certification area.
- This position requires a teacher to work very well in a close co teaching environment; strong collaboration skills are required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Oregon state teaching certification is preferred, out of state certification may be acceptable while provisional or permanent certification is being arranged.
- Teachers must have experience and/or demonstrated ability to work effectively with at risk and diverse youth.
- Ability to work as a member of a small team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with the site lead teacher to create an interdisciplinary, problem based curriculum that includes differentiation strategies to meet our student's unique needs.
- Create a new curriculum under supervision of the lead teacher
- Develop trusting relationships that support and assist student populations with transition goals of post secondary education/employment.
- Assist Site Lead Teacher with administrative duties as needed.
Salary:
$46,000 + Depends on Experience
