Purpose and Scope:
Assist Production Supervisor in general direction and coaching of individuals and the team, coordinate work assignments, train and develop team members, and participate in special projects, as assigned. Plans ahead to improve utilization of resources based on production needs. Safely performs all job functions and utilizes proactive safety concepts, while contributing to a continuous improvement environment. Participates in safety trainings and meetings, and encouraged to engage in other safety-related functions such as 1st responders, training presenters, safety committee, etc.

Leadership:
1. Assist in maintaining detailed and organized data records for the department through the use and successful operation of established data systems and procedures.
2. Communicate to other shifts in a clear and concise manner and complete all hourly and daily reporting prior to leaving at the end of the shift.
3. Responsible for achieving productivity, quality, and safety levels as set for the department.
4. Lead and motivate others in a positive manner, including coaching others to follow work instructions, achieve standards and goals. Provide corrective feedback and work with manager to provide corrective action to team members. Assure team members perform tasks according to established procedures.
5. Coach and develop new team members and temporary employees in small groups and one-on-one.
6. Lead by example by performing machine set-up, loading, cutting, inspecting, and packaging of products. Interface effectively with specialized equipment and automation.
7. Follow through and complete tasks and projects that extend beyond the shift.
Continuous Improvement:
1. Follow and write documented work procedures (SOPs) to eliminate variation and promote sharing of knowledge. Ensure all employees are adhering to (SOP's)
2. Cross train in related functions and assist others in obtaining cross-functional capabilities.
3. Detect product or process abnormalities and suspected causes, troubleshoot processes and help correct issues.
4. Initiate and support Lean Sigma projects and continuous improvements. Generate and document solutions and continuous improvement ideas in established manner. Assist in implementation of productivity improvements.
5. Participate proactively in available opportunities for self-development and demonstrate continuous improvement in leadership and interpersonal skills.
6. Related or similar duties as necessary to the success of Tru Vue, Inc.

Education and Experience:(minimum requirements)
1. Requires HS diploma or equivalent. 2-4-year college degree preferred.
2. Two years' work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
3. Previous formal or informal leadership experience.
4. Previous Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma Experience preferred. Individuals in this position will be required to obtain and utilize skills from Tru Vue/Apogee Lean Sigma Training.

4. Intermittent mathematical skills sufficient to accurately calculate and complete paperwork for the department.
5. Microsoft Office skills: Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
6. Able to conduct effective individual and small-group training for team members.
7. Ability and willingness to learn, understand, and follow documented work procedures.
8. Ability and willingness to generate and support implementation of continuous improvement ideas.
9. Able to interact and function effectively in a team environment.

The noise level in the Production environment is usually loud. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to vibration and risk of electric shock. Production Environment includes varying temperatures (heat and cold).
